I’m hosting a Spring riparian ecology & plants immersion camp in collaboration with the nonprofit Groundwork at their campus site along the North Fork of the Gunnison River in Paonia, Colorado.
This session is a long weekend class with the option to camp out on the land the whole time or stay in the area locally, meals will be provided.
We will explore:
topics in critical ethnobotany
water politics in the desert and greater west
riparian ecology regionally and in a bigger picture view
riparian plant ID
wild foods, medicine and craft plants along riparian corridors
wild-tending for ecological and cultural health
some land based crafts integrating riparian plants
some field trips from campus to explore other riparian areas together
and more.
